Welcome Back Information
June 2025
Hello Baird Families,
The 2025-26 school year is quickly approaching, and we are excited to welcome our new and returning students back to Baird. The First day of the 2025-26 school year is August 18, 2025.
Welcome Back Packets: Welcome Back Packets will be available to pick up at the main office on campus between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning August 6th. Welcome Back Packets include required forms for the start of the school year, bus routes, bell schedules, Baird Standard of Dress contract and Spirit Wear order forms.
Required Forms for Start of School: Mandatory forms that need to be completed in the packet include 2-yellow emergency cards, the Baird Back to School online forms, and the FUSD Expulsion Notification Form. Electronic forms will be available August 6th on the Baird website at https://baird.fresnounified.org/about/welcomeback. Both online packet forms and the hard copy packet forms need to be completed. If a family is unable to complete the forms electronically, assistance will be available during our Schedule Pick-Up Event.
Schedule Pick-Up Event: At the Schedule Pick-Up Event families will return all required forms, pick up student schedules, purchase Spirit Wear & PE clothes, and receive student Temporary ID cards. It is mandatory that all required forms and emergency cards are completed before students pick up their 2025-26 class schedule. Please remember that you will not be able to pick up your student’s schedule unless all forms are completed and submitted. Schedule Pick-Up Event: August 14th; Time: TBD
Pictures and Supply lists: Every student will take pictures for their student ID the first week of school, on Tuesday, August 19th. Families may purchase picture packets from Island Photography; order forms will be in the Welcome Back to School Packet. Supply lists for each grade will be available for pick up when families pick up the Welcome Back Packet. It is recommended that 5th grade students purchase Baird Bundles with all their required supplies during the Schedule Pick-Up Event from the 5th grade teaching team.
Back-To-School Night: Due to limited space Back-to-School Night will take place on two different nights.

Transportation: Bus schedules will be posted on the Baird website in early August. Families will be notified by ParentSquare as soon as they are posted.
After-School Program: ASP will begin on Tuesday, August 19th. ASP is available daily from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There is limited space. Applications for the After-School Program can be found on our website, www.baird.fresnounified.org.
Nutrition: All students enrolled in Fresno Unified School District are eligible for a healthy breakfast and lunch at no charge. No further action is required of you. If you have any questions, please contact the office manager, Mrs. Reeve at (559) 451-4310.
Daily Schedule: Baird’s start time is 9:00 a.m. and dismissal time is 3:30 p.m. on all weekdays except for Early Release Tuesdays. Fresno unified has designated each Tuesday that falls within a 5 day week as Early Release days. There is a total of 28 Early Release Tuesdays. On Early Release Tuesdays dismissal is at 2:40 p.m. Tuesdays that fall on a 4-day week will follow a regular schedule.
Open House: Families will get an opportunity to see what is happening on campus and to check in with the teachers during our open house in the Spring. Open house is scheduled for April 6, 2026, 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
