Standard Dress Policy

 ***For the purpose of fostering a professional and academic school culture, below is the Baird standard of dress policy. Please read through every category. Students not in the Baird Standard of Dress will be provided loaner clothes or parents can bring something for students to change into.

Only a Baird lanyard is acceptable.
No defacing ID, or ID holder.
No stickers.
No toys or trinckets attached to lanyard (hand sanitizer is ok)

PANTS: SOLID BAIRD COLORSMust be fitted and worn at waist and not below hip bone
Must have pockets
Must be hemmed
Elastic waist acceptable 
No baggy style, no sagging
No sweats or jogging styles
No more than one size bigger or smaller
No holes or tears
No spandex, stretch pants or leggings
No frayed cut-offs or hems
SHORTS/SKIRTS: SOLID BAIRD COLORSCapris are acceptable
Pleated
Skorts
Cargo shorts
Must have pockets
Shorts should not be longer than the bottom of the knee cap
Not shorter than “4 fingers” above the knee

SHIRTS/BLOUSES: SOLID BAIRD COLORSMust have collar or turtleneck and sleeves
Must be tucked in at all times
Trim must be in solid Baird colors only
Brand name Logos must be in Baird colors only

Vests ok: must have collared shirt underneath
No lace or sheer material
No cleavage or midriff exposed

No two-toned jackets, no stripes, etc.

BELTS: SOLID BAIRD COLORSSolid buckles only
Solid belt with no studs or decorations
No excess longer than to first belt loop (no hanging belts)
HEADWEAR HAIR ADORNMENTS: SOLID BAIRD COLORSSuch as ribbons/scrunchies
Hoods ok; worn outdoors only in cold weather
Hats may be worn for sun protection purposes only.  Small logos only.
No multi-colored/multi-print
No objects attached to head bands; example cat ears
HAIR COLOR AND/OR STYLE:Hair styles are a matter of personal choice.Bangs must not obstruct or interfere with vision at any time. Excessive hair style that obstructs the view of others will not be allowed.
The school shall be concerned only when this impacts the health and safety of students and staff.
SHOES/SOCKS/LACES: BAIRD SOLID COLORSandals must have a back strap
Socks, laces and shoes should be in Baird colors only.
Tights may be worn under skirts or shorts.
No high heels, no platform shoes, no steel-toed shoesNo thigh highs or leggings allowed
No words, designs or patterns of any kind on socks.

NOT ALLOWED: No logos, tank tops, cut-off sleeves or shorts, see thru pants or shirts, no altered clothing, no running type shorts (must adhere to Standard of Dress for short length) , no leggings, yoga pants, etc.
